Our Story
Shishkabob Express was established in 1994 in Dallas Texas under the name “SAHARA Restaurant and Market”. After 20 years of having a series of successes in building Middle Eastern restaurants across the United States mid-west and east-coast during the 1990’s. Anthony, a former electrical engineer turned restaurateur, joined his friend and chef, Mohammad, to develop, study and master recipes that could taste great, nourish the body, and help prevent against modern illness.
Our Mission
Shishkabob Express was the result of this work, and is founded with the mission to promote the “Mediterranean Diet” and explore the correct use of anti-inflammatory herbs, spices and centuries old cooking methods, to develop nutrient dense meals that repair gut health, improve immunity, manage diabetes and lower risk of heart disease.
Luckily in the modern climate of health awareness, we aren’t alone in our philosophy of mindful eating and detailed ingredient selection. More and more medical professionals and the latest public health research are presenting significant evidence of the therapeutic and healing benefits of a balanced Mediterranean Diet on overall health. Mediterranean meals most typically include the anti-inflammatory cocktail of herbs and spices like Saffron, Cinnamon, Turmeric, Ginger, Cardamom, Parsley, Basil, Cilantro, Chives, Rosemary, Cloves, and Cumin.
Our Promise
All our kabob dishes are made with these herbs and spices, on the finest cuts of locally sourced Halal meats, marinated in our special shish kabob sauces and grilled to perfection. We prepare everything fresh everyday, including our homemade pita bread, giving our customers the best kabob dining experience.
